Technical Architecture & Engineering Overview

Detailed system design and core implementation

The core of the system is the AppProvider defined in event-registration/context/AppContext.tsx. It initializes state slices for events, team members, and site configuration, loading static JSON files from the /data directory. The design deliberately isolates data fetching behind a loadData callback, allowing a seamless transition to real API endpoints (/api/events, /api/team, /api/config) without touching UI components.

Security is enforced through the AuthGuard component in admin/components/AuthGuard.tsx. On each client render it calls /api/auth/status; failures redirect users to /login, while successful checks unblock the protected UI. This pattern complements Next.js middleware for server‑side protection, providing a fallback for edge cases.

The admin side exposes a suite of API routes under admin/app/api/*. The registrations/route.ts file implements GET, POST, PUT, and DELETE handlers that interact with a MongoDB collection via Mongoose models (Registration). Authentication is verified via getAuthUser(), and CORS headers are dynamically generated in attendance/scan/route.ts to support cross‑origin scanning devices.

The UI leverages Next.js App Router with client components (useRouter, usePathname) and icons from react-icons/fi. The Sidebar component defines navigation items for dashboards, event analytics, team pages, and site configuration, illustrating a modular navigation scheme.

Build and deployment are streamlined by TypeScript compilation and ESLint linting, ensuring code quality across both front‑end and back‑end modules. The repository is structured to support incremental migration to a full‑stack environment while maintaining a functional prototype with static JSON data.

User Journey Pipeline

  1. 1User Access & Preset Selection: User opens client interface and configures request parameters or task workflow presets.
  2. 2Client Payload Dispatch: Front-end components (React, Next.js, TailwindCSS) serialize input objects and send HTTP/WebSocket requests to `/api/analyze`.
  3. 3Middleware & Validation Check: API Gateway evaluates CORS headers, authorization tokens, and input validation schemas.
  4. 4Service & Inference Execution: Service controllers dispatch request frames to model inference engine (Local Engine) or storage layer.
  5. 5Response Delivery & State Synchronization: Serialized output payload is returned to the client and rendered in the visual workspace.

Execution Code Flow

  1. 1Client or caller initiates request to application entrypoint
  2. 2Database ORM/client executes storage query
  3. 3Application serializes JSON/audio/data response back to client
